Janel Hyland is a Mompreneur on the go with an appetite for all things green and organic. As a mom with young children, Janel instantly found frustration trying to find diapers to fit her new baby. As you can imagine, baby bottoms come in all shapes and sizes and trying to find cloth diapers with a great fit for her son seemed impossible. As passionate entrepreneurs do with conviction…she sought out and cultivated an answer to her dilemma and at the same time found that communities need and want to change the way they live and buy. She founded “ChunkiBunz Diaperz”. Soft, organic, absorbent diapers, custom fit just for your baby’s bottom. Finding a market niche for her product was easy. Then she found a bigger cause hidden within her quest for diapers…to educate and promote sustainable and healthy lifestyles . Janel knew she couldn’t get this business off the ground alone and until she found the right person to partner with she waited for the opening.
Angelina Kanable brings business skills and love of all things organic to Embracing Green Productions. High energy with a passion for promotion and marketing, Angelina wants to share her love of sustainable living and healthy lifestyles throughout Northwest Indiana. An avid outdoors enthusiast, she embraces the Zen lifestyle combined with eastern strategies for fitness. Organic gardening, meditation, yoga, and natural health and healing are deeply entangled within her personality. Foremost providing an avenue of grass roots sustainability pushing education as a means to natural health, organic living and green friendly products.
Embracing green productions came together over several months of brainstorming. Angelina was a customer of Janel’s and over the course of several months they became close friends. Angelina seemed to be someone Janel related to in many ways, she felt Angelina would be interested in this endeavor. So one day she pitched it to her knowing it would continue to be an idea if she didn’t start talking about it.
Angelina was excited and very interested., over the next several months the both of them talked about how it would work out and what they both wanted to do. How do you do that? Angelina will tell you this; It starts by building a foundation of education at the grass roots level…starting with our community’s future…our children. And from that… the NWI Natural Family Living Expo was born; a place where consumers, local businesses, and entrepreneurs can come together to share resources, make connections and raise awareness for a more environmentally health conscience community. Together, these two are a passionate pair. These two moms found that Indiana was ranked 49th in the States on Environmental concerns. That number was sobering and needed change. Angelina and Janel strive to educate the community about the eco-friendly benefits and opportunities that are right here in our own backyards.
Their mantra? To birth the growth of a green-friendly Indiana through education and by encouraging our communities to support local eco-friendly businesses. Their dream? To help communities throughout Northwest Indiana offset our carbon footprint and assist the world in achieving an organic and green friendly planet.
